Northwestern Health Sciences University recently received the Patriot Award, presented to employers who go above and beyond in their support of their employees or students who are serving in the Armed Forces. The award was presented by retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant David R. Bambenek, in a ceremony at the University on Oct. 20.
Chad Paulson, DC, a 2011 graduate, nominated Northwestern for the award, and selected Mark Zeigler, DC, President of Northwestern, and Renee DeVries, DC, Dean of the College of Chiropractic, to accept the award on behalf of the University. Paulson stated, "Northwestern has shown incredible support and pride of their student/employee soldiers. They have consistently gone out of their way to accommodate and provide additional help to students that miss time from school due to training and deployments. I could not have graduated without such understanding and support."
