All new students are required to attend orientation to ease the transition into academic and student life. Orientation is designed to acquaint new students with each other and the larger campus community, including faculty and staff.

Fall 2017 New Student Orientation

Undergraduate, Post-Bac Pre-Health and Nutrition students

Tuesday, September 5

8:00 am                  Check in

9:00 am - 3:00 pm    Program

Breakfast and lunch are provided.

First day of class

Wednesday, September 6.


Massage Therapy and Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine students

Massage Therapy students enrolled in evening classes who are unable to attend some or all of the daytime Orientation sessions may attend an evening Orientation session on Tuesday, September 5, 5:30pm-7:30pm.  If needed, please contact your Admissions Representative to confirm your attendance at this alternative make-up session.

Orientation dates are September 5 - 8, 2017 (Summer start will be included)

Monday, September 11

Your orientation includes an overnight trip to visit the Standard Process facilities in Wisconsin. (Times are subject to change.)  Buses will begin loading at the school on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 10:45 am and return to the school on Friday, Sept. 8 at approximately 8 pm. 

This trip is mandatory for new students beginning the Chiropractic program.  Requests to be excused from the trip should be directed to your admissions representative.  They must be approved by the director of admissions and the dean.

Roommate Options:

  • We will assign you a roommate, or
  • You may submit a roommate request at Orientation on Wednesday, or
  • You may contact your admissions representative if you have an extenuating circumstance regarding rooming needs.

Recommended Packing List:

  • Items for the bus ride: music, electronics, book, snacks
  • Business casual attire for dinner, comfortable but professional for the tour with closed toed shoes required.
  • Swim suit for pool at hotel (if desired)
  • Sleepwear, toiletries
  • Exercise clothes / shoes for Fitness Center at hotel (if desired)
  • Notebook or laptop/iPad for taking notes

Standard Process Trip Schedule:

Thursday, September 7, 10:30 am

Campus arrival. Buses begin loading at 10:45 am.

Lunch to take on bus provided.

Friday, September 8

Buses return to NWHSU around 8 pm.

Also prior to attending Orientation, print out and sign the following waivers and certifications to confirm that you have read and understand required policies and other key information.

Parking Permits

Register your vehicle if you would like to request a pass for on-campus parking. Parking passes will be available at new student orientation.
